Your host skis himself
Matthias knows the trails from his biathlon days. He will gladly tell you which loop suits your day and the snow. And when it suits, he joins you for a loop, on the spur of the moment and free of charge. Our daughter Mathilda has long been at home on the trails.

Cross-country trails in the Tannheimer Tal
A selection around Nesselwängle and Tannheim, from the short loop in the village to the long route into the Allgäu. The valley holds the Tyrolean seal of quality for its trails. Which trails are groomed today is shown in the tourist board’s trail report.
- Across the fields of Nesselwängle below the Krinnenspitze. According to the tourist board the most snow-sure trail in the valley, usually skiable well into spring.

- From the lift car park in Nesselwängle down to the Haldensee and back along the edge of the forest.

- From Tannheim up to the Vilsalpsee in the nature reserve, where the Restaurant Vilsalpsee and the Fischerstube stand by the lake.
- The long route to Unterjoch in the Allgäu, where the Ski-Trail cross-country marathon used to run.
- Short and hilly, groomed for skating only, for experienced skiers and intervals.
Classic or skating
Both. Almost all trails in the valley are groomed for classic and skating. If you like it flat and quiet, stay in the fields of Nesselwängle or ski down to the Haldensee. If you want to train, the Expertenrunde in Tannheim is short, hilly and groomed for skating only.

Waxing your skis with your host
There is a waxing bench, an iron and wax in the house. Rather than a waxing service, we wax together: Matthias shows you which wax suits the day’s snow. There is no charge, just let us know. Overnight your skis and poles stay in the ski cellar, your boots in the boot warmer.
