Skiing in the Tannheimer Tal, from Nesselwängle

The Füssener Jöchle in Grän and the Neunerköpfle in Tannheim are only a few minutes from the house. The Rohnenspitze in Zöblen and the Wannenjoch in Schattwald lie at the far end of the valley. With the guest card the ski bus is free.

For a skiing holiday in the Tannheimer Tal, our house is in Nesselwängle, at 1,200 metres on the slope above the village, with seven suites, each with its own kitchen. We are Nina and Matthias and we live in the house ourselves, with our daughter Mathilda and Oskar, our Labradoodle. Mathilda has long been at home in the valley in winter. Rolls outside your suite in the morning, the piste by day, the steam bath and fondue in the evening: that is what a ski day with us looks like.

The ski areas in the valley

The nearest is the Füssener Jöchle in Grän. The eight-seater gondola takes you from 1,205 to 1,821 metres in nine minutes, and at the top the Jochalpe chairlift carries on. There are around nine kilometres of easy and intermediate runs, with snowmaking on the run down to the valley. A good mountain for your first day.

At the Neunerköpfle in Tannheim the eight-seater gondola takes ten minutes to the top. The way down is the red valley run, about three and a half kilometres back to Tannheim. At the valley station there is a practice area with a moving carpet for the first turns.

At the Rohnenspitze in Zöblen and the Wannenjoch in Schattwald you will find everything from the beginners’ slope to the racing piste.

One ski pass covers all four, 20 lifts and cable cars in all. Multi-day passes are also valid on the Hahnenkamm in Reutte. The tourist board shows which lifts are running today.

Ski hire and ski servicing at Sport Rief

Sport Rief is the sports shop down in our village. You can hire skis there, and take your own in for servicing: edges sharpened and whatever else they need. With the guest card, ski hire in the valley costs less.

Ski schools and children

There are ski schools in Grän, Tannheim, Zöblen and Schattwald, with taster lessons, group courses, private lessons and snowboard courses. For the youngest there are children’s areas in Grän, in Tannheim with a large mammoth on the slope, and one shared by Zöblen and Schattwald.

Early to the lifts

If you want the first gondola, the rolls from the Bitesnich bakery are outside your suite by 8 am, ordered by 4 pm the day before. We can also pack you something for the slopes on request.
