Bread from the Bitesnich bakery in the village, honey from the beekeeper, organic yoghurt from the region, served daily in the Bauernstube as an extra to order, or fresh rolls at your suite door by 8 am.
Quiet here is not a mood but a location: the calmest corner of the Tannheimer Tal, a house above the village, and never more than seven suites of guests.
29 hiking routes start within thirty minutes of the house on foot. We send you off with maps and route tips, and, on request, a packed Jause or our hand-packed picnic basket.
From May to early November one return cable-car ride per night for every guest, at the Neunerköpfle it would otherwise cost €30. Plus free buses through the whole valley with the guest card, which we can email you in advance.
Steam bath, indoor whirlpool, infrared cabin for two and quiet room, for house guests only, plus the natural swimming pond in summer, and a private hour all to yourself on request.
Dogs are welcome, we have one ourselves. A quick word before booking, and the right suite is found.

A house above the village, seven suites each with their own kitchen, the Tannheimer mountains in front. As free as a holiday flat, and yet someone is there: breakfast in the Bauernstube in the morning, the steam bath in the afternoon, and the two of us in the house. Not a big hotel, more a home for a while.

Your hosts
We are Nina and Matthias
Since the summer of 2026 we have been running the Sunneschlössli, together with our daughter Mathilda and our dog Oskar. We took it over from Daniela and Frank, who cared for the house with great devotion for many years.
We learned hosting at the Baur au Lac in Zurich and at Brenners in Baden-Baden. At some point we wanted a house of our own, small enough to welcome every guest ourselves.
Inside the house
Formerly a private residence
Carved cabinets, furniture with a past, art on the walls: the Sunneschlössli is furnished with genuine antiques, many of them well travelled.
The Zarensuite holds beds in which Tsar Nicholas II once slept, with drawings by Gustav Klimt beside them. The Rosensuite has a Salvador Dalí lithograph, the Biedermeiersuite the sofa of Wallis Simpson. Each suite carries its own signature.

From the little turret under the cupola to the bay-window suite with three balconies. Each with its own kitchen and a balcony or loggia, and no two are alike. Which one suits you, we are glad to tell you.

For lovers of history: the Tsar's beds, a bay window and a south loggia.

For those who make their own breakfast: a kitchen with counter, a south balcony.

For lovers of open space: one room beneath the roof, living and sleeping together.
