We pack you a basket from what grows and is made here. Bread from the Bäckerei Bitesnich in Nesselwängle, cheese from the valley, honey from the beekeeper in Tannheim, and a wine from our cellar if you wish. You choose the spot, we see to the rest. By the swimming pond, on the meadow, wherever it is quiet.
The basket to take along
The basket comes ready packed, with a blanket and a small card telling you who made what. Butter and jam from our own garden, something sweet from our kitchen, cold drinks, home-made apple spritzer or herbal tea, and a small jar of honey that is yours to keep. Take it to the Vilsalpsee, on a walk, or simply down to the swimming pond. Ordered by 5 pm the evening before, like our bread-roll service.
And it travels well: Neuschwanstein Castle is a good half hour away. You are there early, where everyone wants to go, and at midday you sit with the basket where it is quiet.
The table, laid for you
For a special occasion we lay the table ourselves: linen, wine on ice, flowers from Karina’s Blumenstube, the valley in view. By the swimming pond or on the chapel meadow, by arrangement and weather permitting, on a few dates each summer.
Good to know
We will quote the price on request; a wine accompaniment from our cellar, curated by Markus Saletz, comes at list price. If it rains, we lay the table in the Bauernstube or move to another day. Best ask before you arrive and we take care of the rest: enquiry.
