The second season
When the snow comes
Quiet trails, snowed-in summits, and a warm retreat afterwards.
The Sunneschlössli has two seasons. When the snow comes, the hiking valley becomes one of the quietest cross-country regions in the Alps, and the house becomes a warm retreat after a day outside.
140 km
of trails in the valley
4
ski areas, 33 km of slopes
30+
toboggan runs and snowshoe trails
Cross-country from the doorstep
The trail begins a few steps from the house; around 140 kilometres of groomed tracks lie in the valley, from gentle starts to more demanding loops. Matthias knows them from his biathlon days and will gladly tell you which suits your day. Our daughter Mathilda has long been at home on the trails.

Skiing, tobogganing and snowshoes
Four ski areas with 33 kilometres of slopes lie in the valley, along with toboggan runs, groomed winter walking paths and snowshoe routes. The lifts take you up: the Neunerköpfle in Tannheim, the Füssener Jöchle in Grän and the Wannenjoch in Schattwald. After the tour, skis and poles go into the house ski cellar.

Warmth afterwards
Back at the house, the wellness area with steam bath and infrared is waiting, and the Orient Express bar for a glass in the evening. With a kitchen in every suite, a long winter evening takes care of itself.
Ski cellar
Skis and poles stored dry.
Boot warmers
Warm, dry boots the next morning.
Still days
Between the holidays the valley is at its quietest. If you are after a few days of distance, you will find them here, with the trail at the door and the snowed-in valley outside the window.
